Career Focus

  • The first step to earning your hairstyling license is to successfully complete the CAVIT two-year, 1000-hour program. At the end of the program, it’s time to earn your licensure by passing the state’s two exams. Finally, it’s time to update your resume and apply for and land a hairstylist position.

Hairstylist Entry Level Salary Range*

  • Hourly: $12.25–$17.58
  • Annual: $25,480–$36,570
