Note: Required June 1–18, 2026, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. training at CAVIT’s Coolidge campus. Student must be 16 years of age on June 1, 2026, and have earned ten high school credits with two of those credits in English.

Program Highlights

  • Learn the art of barbering including cutting, coloring, and shaving.
  • Train in a salon setting using mannequins and live models.
  • Learn the latest in skin care, facials, and straight razor techniques.

Career Focus

  • The first step to earning your Barbering licensure is to successfully complete the two-year, 1,200-hour program. At the end of the program, it’s time to earn your certifications by passing the state’s written and practical exams. Finally, it’s time to update your resume and apply for and land a barber position and/or continue post-secondary education and earn a business or marketing degree.

  • Hourly: $17-$30
