The Massage Therapist plays an important role in growing health care fields of preventive health care, fitness and stress management. Students learn Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology of the body as it relates to soft tissue injury and treatment. Students will also be introduced to proper body mechanics for their own well-being and injury prevention. In addition, students will be taught sanitation procedures, First Aid, and become CPR certified.

  • A student-run campus clinic offering complimentary chair massage, foot/leg scrub, Swedish table massage, and hot stone massage to the community. Visit the clinic online to find out dates and hours of operation.
  • Businesses can request free chair massage events at their sites. 


Prerequisites:

  • 2.5 GPA
  • One credit in Biology or Anatomy/Physiology
  • CPR certification prior to clinic work
  • 90% attendance
  • The fee for this program is $50.00. The fee covers the cost of the uniform that students must wear daily to CAVIT.

We have designed this course for students to be able to complete in two years.  CAVIT will award a certificate of completion to students who successfully complete the two year program.



  • 1st, 4th, 5th Place, Clinical Specialty Contest, Arizona HOSA Conference, 2010.


Through a Tech Prep articulation agreement with Central Arizona College, students in the second year massage therapy class are eligible to earn free college credit. The college defines entrance requirements, which must be met before the college will grant credit. Students are responsible for meeting those requirements and completing a separate college admission process.
