What We Offer Law Enforcement

High school juniors and seniors learn the skills and knowledge necessary to work in a criminal justice-related field. Topics include search and seizure, corrections, courts, community policing, and use of appropriate force. Students work closely with local police department Explorer programs and participate in the SkillsUSA leadership competitions. The program also provides an introduction to the world of crime scene investigation and students participate in an annual forensics competition.

Prerequisites:

  • 2.5 GPA
  • One credit in Biology or Anatomy/Physiology
  • 90% attendance
  • Two credits in English 


This program is designed to be completed in two years. Students successfully completing the two-year program will receive a certificate of completion.

Through a Tech Prep articulation agreement with Central Arizona College, students in the second year law enforcement class are eligible to earn free college credit. The college defines entrance requirements which must be met before the college will grant credit. Students are responsible for meeting those requirements and completing a separate college admission process.
