Enrollment FAQs

When can I apply to CAVIT?

Students can complete the 2024–2025 online enrollment application beginning on November 1, 2023.

What are the minimum requirements to attend CAVIT?

A student must be a current sophomore or junior to apply to CAVIT. Students will be accepted based on their score on the CAVIT Success Rubric. This rubric scores students on freshman and sophomore year number of credits earned, attendance at CAVIT recruitment activities, and the personal statement submitted in the online application.

When will I know if I've been accepted to CAVIT?

Students will be notified in February after rubric scores are calculated.

How can I increase my chances of being accepted?

Students who attend our recruiting events, have earned the most credits during their freshman and sophomore years, and submitted a quality personal statement in the online application have the best chance of getting accepted to CAVIT.

What is the deadline for applications?

The online application opens on November 1 and closes on January 31. Students will be ranked according to the CAVIT Success Rubric in February 2024. Applications will still be accepted through the beginning of the 2024–2025 school year based on availability in each program.

Besides the online application, what other paperwork needs to be completed for enrollment?

Students need to submit a personal statement and a utility bill showing their physical home address during the online application.

Can a student with a higher rubric score that applies later in the year "bump" a student who has already been accepted?

No, once a student is accepted their spot is secured.

Can I still participate in my home school activities?

Yes! Students are encouraged to gain the best of both worlds - remaining active in their home schools as well as becoming involved with CAVIT.

I want to go to college. How can CAVIT help me?

CAVIT can help you get started on college credit before you graduate from high school! A large majority of CAVIT programs offer dual enrollment at no charge.

Do I have to wear a uniform?

Yes. All CAVIT students are required to be in uniform. Each program has different uniform requirements. On occasion we do have dress down days.

I'm not sure about what to do after graduation? Why should I choose CAVIT?

At CAVIT we help you get ready for your future - whether that be a career, college, military, or entrepreneurship - we will help you get there! We will help you find your passion.

What would a typical day be like if I attend CAVIT?

You will spend two hours a day in your program. During this time you might be hands-on in a small group working on a project, mastering a skill on your own, or learning in a classroom.

How much does it cost?

There is no tuition at CAVIT. All expenses for items like tools, uniforms, workbooks, and certification testing fees for each program are provided by CAVIT.

Do CAVIT students receive a diploma?

As a CAVIT student you graduate from your high school. CAVIT can earn a program completion certificate upon successful completion of all requirements.

Will I earn any industry certifications?

CAVIT students have the opportunity to earn certifications in their career field after learning the skills and passing a certification test.

Is transportation provided to CAVIT?

Yes. Daily transportation is provided to CAVIT by participating high schools. CAVIT students may also drive themselves to our Coolidge campus.

What is the CAVIT culture?
